1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of SiteSheriff's website monitoring service ("Service"). By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

2. Description of Service

SiteSheriff provides website uptime monitoring and alerting services on a pay-as-you-go basis. Our Service includes:

  • Regular monitoring of your specified websites and endpoints
  • Real-time alerts via email, Slack, webhook, and other notification channels
  • Historical uptime and performance data

3. Account Registration

3.1 Account Creation

To use our Service, you must create an account by providing accurate and complete information. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use
  • Keeping your account information current and accurate

3.2 Account Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

4. Pricing and Payment

4.1 Pay-As-You-Go Model

SiteSheriff operates on a pay-as-you-go pricing model. You are charged a fixed rate per monitoring check, with no monthly commitments or subscriptions. Current pricing is available on our website and within the dashboard.

4.2 Credits

  • Credits are purchased in advance and deducted as monitoring checks are performed
  • A minimum purchase amount of $5.00 applies to offset payment processing costs
  • Credits do not expire as long as your account remains active
  • You will receive notifications when your credit balance is low
  • Monitoring will pause if your credit balance reaches zero

4.3 Payment Processing

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. You agree to provide accurate payment information and authorize us to charge your payment method for credit purchases.

4.4 Refunds

Credit purchases are generally non-refundable. However, we may provide refunds at our sole discretion in cases of service errors or technical issues that prevented you from using purchased credits.

4.5 Price Changes

We reserve the right to change our pricing at any time. Price changes will not affect credits already purchased but will apply to future purchases. We will provide reasonable notice of pricing changes.

5. Service Usage

5.1 Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with our Acceptable Use Policy.

5.2 Service Limits

We may impose reasonable limits on your use of the Service to ensure fair usage and maintain service quality for all users.

6. Service Availability

While we strive to maintain high availability, we do not guarantee 100% uptime. We will make commercially reasonable efforts to maintain Service availability and will provide advance notice of planned maintenance when possible.

7. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. You retain ownership of all data you provide to the Service. We will not sell, share, or use your monitoring data for purposes other than providing the Service.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including all software, designs, text, graphics, and other content, is owned by SiteSheriff and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for your internal business purposes.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL DETECT ALL DOWNTIME EVENTS OR THAT ALERTS WILL BE DELIVERED WITHOUT DELAY.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL SITESHERIFF BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SiteSheriff and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time through the account deletion feature in your dashboard. We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy. Upon termination, any unused credits will be forfeited.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

14. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after such notification constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
